Spirits suck... your mana

Elusive Banshee (custom Hearthstone card)
So there is this one card I really like in Hearthstone called Mana Wraith. The reason I love it, is because it is such a unique way to win. It gives the game a twist, which might give you an edge on the battlefield. That is, if you own another cheap minion and your opponent doesn't. I would like to see more of this minion, but it sadly isn't that great.

So I came up with the idea to have a minion that gets stronger with each mana spend to cast it. Because who would want that, right? No one expect for me and my crazy ideas. But take a moment to think about it. This card would make so many other cards / abilitites more useful:

Elusive Banshee = 2/3 for 2 mana.
With Mana Wraith = 3/4 for 3 mana.
With Chieftain Scarvash = 4/5 for 4 mana.
With Naga Sea Witch = 5/6 for 5 mana.
With Venture Co. Mercenary = 5/6 for 5 mana

This card also makes Piloted Shredder a tiny bit weaker. Making it possible for the player to get the 0/1 Stealth minion blocking a slot on his side of the board. That is, unless the player can buff it of course.

Anyway I like this idea. I hope you guys like it too. Let me know what you think of it!

Out of stock

Backorder Bloke (custom Hearthstone card)
Don't you just hate it when you order something and it is out of stock? In some stores you get placed on the o~ so annoying backlist. Which means the shopkeeper is looking for a new supplier. And guess how they find a supplier in the Warcraft universe? That's right! they send a rogue out to search for one. Sure, the waiting time may vary, but oddly enough there are plenty suppliers willing to help. I wonder why that is...

I introduce to you the Backorder Bloke. A rogue that can deliver all the goods one might need. It just might take some time before he finds a victim. Euh, supplier I mean.

If you're not smart you'd better be annoying

Timewalker Mage (custom Hearthstone card)
You know what? Yesterday I posted about educating the Ogres; making them smarter. Well today I want to punish those who are smart :D Let's annoy the pro-players!

Almost all pro-players tend to think for a long time before they act. Other people pretend to think for a long time and use 'turtling' as a tactic. Now those are the annoying people. So in return; let's give them a reason not to do this. Why not add a card that would punish people for waiting for the rope.

Abilities that trigger when the rope appears should be easy enough to avoid for anyone. Just be a little quicker with your thinking. Also, such abilities would works nicely combined with Nozdormu. When these two get combined, you will trigger the ability every turn! Now that would make this card strong and would make Nozdormu more powerful.

So when I thought about this, that would mean that the minion should have decent stats
Necrolyte Timewalker (custom Hearthstone card)
on it's own (the ability doesn't work in most cases). It also would mean that the card should have some link to the Bronze Dragonflight. So, i decided to make the card a Timewalker.

The first idea was to create a Timewalker warrior that gives Taunt whenever the rope appears, but I couldn't find any good art for it. My next idea was to have a Warlock Timewalker, that would Shadow bolt a random minion, but there wasn't any decent Timewalker art for that either. So then I found this art and decided to make it a Mage for now. I mean, common it's Winter Veil; let's freeze some stuff!

I didn't really focus that much on the stats. I just wanted to try some new idea's out that would help Nozdormu and revolve around time (the rope). Let me know what you think of such abilities. Would they work of be much to situational and thus be bad?

How did I miss this?

Seriously, how could have not noticed this minion! Here I am whining about seeing too few Draenei in-game and I didn't even know this card existed! Probably because I'm not really into Shaman at the moment and rarely play against one who also has this minion. What baffles me that it is also really close to an idea I coined in 2014.

The version I created had one more health and didn't give the bonus permanent but more temporarily like a Murloc Warleader. By seeing the card I'm getting a funny Shaman vibe. I think its about time to undust (not with arcane dust but actual dust :P) those Shaman decks!

Changing the odds

Ogre Mathematicians 1 (custom Hearthstone card)What if Ogre's could actually count? Well, they would know they are two persons and deserve to be treated that way. Look at Cho'Gall (HotS). He knows it! We have been treating our Ogre's poorly these last decades and times have to change.

So here I present what would happen if a Two-Headed-Ogre would be aware of his rights. All spells that give a random effect would have to treat them as two minions. Why? Because it's only fair. Do we like it? Well, no :) But in all truth; Two-Headed-Ogres have been discriminated for years! They have less chances to survive a Brawl, less change to get free buffs and only get one present at Christmas ;/ That's not fair!

Of course it wasn't a serious design, but I do like the fact that the ability has big advantages and disadvantages. Let me know what you think of the card.
Ogre Mathematicians 2 (custom Hearthstone card)

Btw: I actualy meant this card to be a neutral one, but I made a boo boo with the art, and then another one with the class... Here's my first version.

Two new warrior minons

Elder Warstomper (custom Hearthstone card)Like I've stated many times before, I would like to see more diversity among the races you see in Hearthstone. It's just so awesome to challenge someone with a theme based deck. Now, Tauren and Ogres might need some more representation in the game. Both races are mostly featured in the Warrior class. So with this in mind I thought of the following cards:

On of the cards; Elder Warstomper is e remade version of the Angry Warstomper. I thought the previous card didn't have to be a epic and should have some better stats.

The Conflicted Brute is a entirely new card. It gives you another Ogre for the 3-mana slot. Giving the possibility of you playing "mono-Ogre". Not-really. But it makes it a bit more possible. It also features the 50% change ability that all Ogre's seem to feature. The difference is that this minion gives Warrior possible free removal by utilizing it's hero ability.
Conflicted Brute (custom Hearthstone card)

I like the idea's. I would love it, if Blizzard would put a 3-mana Ogre in Neutral or the Warrior class. Please do not add Ogre's to any other class like you did with Mounted Raptor. Seriously if you added that raptor (art wise) to hunter we could have seen some Dinosaur decks. That would have been awesome :D.

Let me know what you think of these two cards. If you have any more idea’s to create cool tribal decks, please let me know in the comments.

A warm thanks to Blizzard

Hi everyone. It's been a while since my last post. In the last weeks I have finished my master-thesis and I'm now waiting to hear the results (very exciting! :D). Today should be the day I get my feedback, so while waiting I wanted to make an update on the blog:

Ive been looking at the newest spoilers and wanted to thank Blizzard because I really like the new cards that were revealed for the upcoming adventure! Every single card is awesome and adds so much to the variety to what is currently in the game. Some of these cards have been on my wish list for a while. So, with me waiting for results and most other gamers waiting for the League of Explorers adventure; let me talk about the cards I have been waiting for:

One of the first cards I wanted to see was the Baby Bluegill. I don't think I ever wrote a post about it on the blog, but she has been sitting in my brainstorm-box for almost two years. The version Blizzard has made (Murloc Tinyfin) is a little bit different from my concept (it has no charge and is a 1/1 instead of a 0/0), but I am overjoyed to see a little baby Murloc in the game. This little Murloc can grow up to be deadly when parented by a proper War Leader.

From one of my oldest wants, we jump to one of the newer. In May this year I uploaded the Savage Raptor concept. This concept showed a two drop Raptor that would get stronger with allies. Blizzard did give me my raptor (Mounted Raptor), but made him more expensive to cast and gave him the Pilot Shredder ability. A bit disappointing flavor wise, but at least I can now make my Troll and Raptor deck!

Then there is the Scarab Hatchling I've been wanting to see. Okay, this one doesn't feature anything near the idea I had, but it is a Jeweled Scarab. Finally! I love Blizzard so much for adding a small scarab and for adding Anub' Arak in the previous expansion. I can now finally make a deck that has any resemblance to the first 'tribe' I ever made for this blog.

In the previous expansion Blizzard gave me my wishes as well. A long time ago, I had come up with this Summon portal idea, which was meant to shuffle one minion back into your deck and get another random minion in return. This card looked very similar to the Unstable portal that currently resides in the game. The version wanted was a bit more of a gamble and was a lot more expensive to cast. So, I did get the random minion part, the correct artwork and the right class, but in the end it they gave me my portal on steroids! :).

So in the end, I just wanted to show Blizzard how thankful I am from them to add the cards I always wanted to see. This post also shows how you guys how horrible I am at giving cards the correct stats (Lol :D). Anyway, thanks for the new adventure Blizzard. I am looking forward to your next expansions!
