Just another random thought

I think I've stated it before on this Blog but I really would like to be able to play a Dinosaur deck. Why? Because it's just cool. It’s that simple. Now, the problem is that there are too few Dinosaurs in the game. It would be easy to think of another minion, but I'm trying to think of spells.

Hunter has this card called Lock and Load. It gives the player a random Hunter card when you cast a spell. I wanted to create a spell that has synergy with this card and add some Dinosaur flavor to the game. So the effect I was thinking of was: "Each time a beast is put into your hand, it becomes a Dinosaur". Which was a bit odd because there currently is no Dinosaur race and it never will be because of the beast label. So, instead I wanted it to summon Mounted Raptors, which was also odd because that card is made for Druids.

I have thought of just buffing the beast you draw, but it felt boring and not great flavor wise. Because of these things, I was thinking about two options. Either design a new Dinosaur that could be summoned with this card or choose from the existing cards. Because of time reasons, I choose the latter one (for now).

So without really thinking about it, my Dinosaur of choice became the Devilsaur. To be honest I think the Devilsaur has a too high cost and I should create another dinosaur for it to summon, but for now its fine. I could reduce the mana cost and then let it summon Bloodfen Raptor's which have a lower mana-cost. However, I don't know if that is the sollution.

I'll let the idea rest for now and pick it back up when I have ideas for the Dino it could summon. In the meantime, let me know what you think of such a spell. Is it dumb? Would it be useful? Let me know!

Crippling Silence

After a short silence from my side :) I decided to create another Hearthstone card. After I looked at some WoW TCG art, I found this true beauty and wanted to create a card with it. In the picture you can see a ninja throwing a Shuriken.

So I started to think about the possabilities. Ofcourse, it had to be a Rogue card; there is a Ninja (masters of stealth) in it. A shuriken is meant to deal damage or even kill, however, I thought it would not deal much damage against a large creature like a Dragon or Demon. That's why I decided the card should enable those who are stealthed to deal 1 damage. Which is still lethal if you hire the right guys for the cause.

Crippling Silence is great fun if you combine it with the smaller guys amoung cards. A lot of people tend to ignore Patient Assassin and Mini Mage and prefer other minions in their decks. However, with Crippling Silence, these minions become more useful. If you would have two Patient Assassins on the board, that means four of your opponent's minions are getting killed (if you use the minions themselves as well). By using two Mini Mages, you are looking at 12 damage (again, if you use the minions as well).

I think Crippling Silence has a lot of potential. Let me know if I'm wrong and discuss the card in the comments below!

Tinking Tribal: First Broken concepts

Akama (custom Hearthstone card)
Hi there! Today I'm uploading my first concept for the Broken tribe. Like I’ve said in a previous article: It's very difficult to find enough (and fitting) art of Broken Draenei. But.. if we cheat a little bit here and there (I hope you don't notice it :P) we might be able to pull it off.

The idea I had revolved around Akama. He's known for his chain lightning spell and calling in elemental wolves. I noticed how all current Hearthstone cards with lightning on them; (Lightning Storm, Lightning Bolt & Forked Lightning) and the Feral Spirit card, all have overload. So it would be perfect for Akama to revolve around that ability.

I wanted to recreate the Rebound mechanic from MTG but it would not fit the small Hearthstone cards.  That’s when I tried this set up for Akama. It might be a little bit overboard (I mean overpowered with that), but for now it's okay. The other Broken should revolve around this same mechanic. Most of these spells deal "small" amounts of damage against multiple enemies. However, I didn't knew eny better ability atm than to make them stronger against weakened enemies. I might change that if I know something better.

Then there is the last card in this concept set. Deathsworn Soulseeker makes ALL Broken minions 2 mana cheaper. It's probably broken as hell... I know. But it seemed nice in combination with the Overload cost. So yeah. I think the current set-up is really BROKEN. hahaha :D It might give these cards a second look in the near future.
Please leave comments. Tell me how overpowered they are. Do you have any good alternatives?

Darkmoon Madness (fun-card)

Darkmoon Madness (custom Hearthstone card)
As the Moon glares through my bedroom window I thought of my deck. Which made me think of the name Darkmoon Deck. Those items you could get in WoW. And i thought of Professor Thaddeus Paleo. That crazy old dude were you completed the quest in order to get one of those decks. So I searched for a nice piece of art and I found this awesome one. Seriously a shout out to the artist Matt Cavotta. It's freaking awesome man!

Well I came up with this funny ability for the card. When you play this spell, your entire deck gets replaced by a pre-made deck. Of course it would never see the light of day because it's a neutral spell, but whatever. It's awesome and I like it. I hope you like it too.

Enslave Demon

Enslave Demon (custom Hearthstone card)
Who has played as a Warlock in hearthstone, may have noticed the abscence of one particular ability. Enslaving demons. I would really like to have a card in the game that embodies this ability. In World of Warcraft, this ability let's you enslave a Demon for a certain amount of time. Sure, Mind Control is in the game, but Warlocks can't use that. (and that effect is permanent)

The enslave Demon spell I came up with is rather underwhelming, but it seems fair to play. For 5 mana, you can take control of an opponent's Demon. Now you might be thinking, what's the chance of playing this on an opponent's Demon, right?  But what would happen if you played this on your own Demons? Then you suddenly get an Demon with haste. You can play an Pit Lord and drop this card on it the same turn.
If this card would be in the game, I would definetly run one in my Demon deck. If gives my control against opponent's Demons and gives me an Charge.

Ghoulish Epidemic

Ghoulish Epidemic (custom Hearthstone card)
Ghouldish Epidemic is an 8 mana costing spell exclusive to Warlocks. I really like the idea of abusing the discard funtion. However I don't want it to be used in the same way MTG does (allowing you to reanimate certain creatures). It seems much more fun to reanimate a small legion of tokens instead of certain minions.

you might think this card wouldn't give you much for it's cost, but I think you can get very much power out of it. Considering there is quite a lot of discard in Hearthstone already:

Deathwing, Doomguard, Soulfire, Succubus, and Tracking all let you discard cards. (Tracking is not a a Warlock spell)

So if you play Doomguard, Soulfire and Succubus, you have a discarded lot of eight cards. Ofcourse not all of those cards are minions, but let's say you discard 4 minions. Then this card gives you four 3/2 minions on the battlefield. Now that I think of it, maybe it's even to overpowered. Maybe giving 2/2 Ghouls would be strong enough..

Fine, the text is not set in stone yet, I just wanted to share the idea of this card with you.
